Ever wonder where the George Bush Turnpike ends? It's in Rowlett. (However, soon the turnpike will continue on to I-30). With its close proximity to shopping, Lake Ray Hubbard, and Dallas, Rowlett is in a great location. From the Firewheel Town Center, to the many nearby golf courses, Rowlett offers something for everyone.
Just on the other side of the lake lies Rockwall. Having grown up from its small-town beginnings, Rockwall maintains its family friendly atmosphere. Many new retail developments have sprung up along I-30, but the old downtown still thrives today. Rockwall is a prime location for water sports, golfing, fishing, and shopping. The school system is top notch. You can find everything from acreage homesites to master-planned communities in the area.
Garland has been a popular area for many years. It first crossed the 100,000 population barrier in 1980. Today Garland boasts more than 220,000 residents. It remains a prmary suburb to Dallas. Garland contiues its growth and devlopment, opening the Hawaiian Falls waterpark in 2003, the aforementioned Firewheel Town Center in 2005, and the Bass Pro Shop in 2006.
