Just south of Wylie on Hwy 78, Sachse was founded in 1840 by William Sachse. Due to its proximity to the George Bush Tollway, Sachse and Garland have experienced rapid retail growth. The Firewheel Town Center, along with numerous restaraunts have come in recent years.
